Berlin | My top favorite brunch spots

March, 2015

Sundays are made for friends and late breakast. Berlin’s culinary scene is constantly growing and it can be quite overwhelming to find the right place. I therefore have explored the city to scoop the best brunch spots in Berlin. Here are my top favorite weekend rituals:

FAVORITE BRUNCH SPOTS:

PAPI CRUNCH AT PARKER BOWLES : since a while I wanted to try Sunday Brunch at Parker Bowles in Kreuzberg and finally made it last weekend. It's a bright and stylish place with floor to ceiling windows. I really like the plain decor and the impressive deer sculpture giving the interior a Scandinavian touch. The service was very friendly and efficient and the atmosphere relaxing with nice music in the background. Papi Crunch's breakfast specials are just incredibly delicious. I recommend The Big Fat Toast (Guacamole and a 64° Egg Yolk) as well as their fantastic Duck Carnitas. I totally fell in love with the walnut-banana-pancake - don't leave before trying!

ROAMERS COFFEE & BOOZE : hidden in a corner street of Neukoeln, this cafe is standing out from all other places I've seen so far. The small room is decorated by the owner with so much taste and reflects his passion for travel, food and plants. It reminds me of a little greenhouse with plants hanging over the wooden counter and everywhere around the cafe. I felt welcomed right away and loved the magic atmosphere. There are no words to describe Roamers, you have to experience it yourself and make sure to try the shakshouka! The menu is creative and seasonal with regional products. The attention to detail in the interior decor and cuisine is the key criteria for me when choosing a brunch place. Roamers became a neighborhood hotspot and therefore you should make sure to come early or during weekdays.

LE BON : cosy, charming, ideal for sharing late breakfast with friends - best Eggs Benedict :-)
HOUSE OF SMALL WONDER : a true oasis in the heart of Mitte. Magic atmosphere and interesting culinary concept inspired by the sister property in Williamsburg/New York.
KAFFEEBAR : favorite hangout for coffee break, lunch catchup with friends or just for reading a book and enjoying a delicious piece of lemon cheese cake
ZEIT FÜR BROT : don't miss to taste their cinnamon buns - they are amazing!
SALUMERIA LAMURI : feels like a short trip to Italy - charming breakfast, lunch and apéro place
AUNT BENNY : favorite brunch spot in Friedrichshain
MICHELBERGER : surprisingly different, a must while staying in Berlin
CAFE LIEBLING : neighborhood feeling at Prenzlauer Berg

VEGAN BREAKFAST:

DALUMA : incredible smoothies & great concept - I love this place! Try the chia-pudding with hazelnuts-topping... A DREAM
ROOTZ : my favorite vegan spot in Kreuzberg - not only do they serve delicious vegan and vegetarian dishes but also a selection of incredible homemade cakes

Every 3rd Sunday of the Month a breakfast market takes place at Markthalle 9 in Kreuzberg - an impressive culinary feast not to miss!

Now you only have to make up your mind which place to choose this weekend & enjoy good moments. Bon appétit!
